Sailing – a Little Fleece for the Soul

Happy Holidays and Season’s Greetings. Time to fight the gray days and rain with turkey, eggnog and figgy pudding*. It’s the offical time for gift giving, but the greatest gifts we’ve been getting all year long; love, friendship, and experiences out on the water – to sit with your hand on the tiller while breezes fill the sails, gently blowing away cares and worries, refreshing body and soul. Okay, maybe not so gently at times, but definitely a head clearer.
This year we’ve put in a special gift section to help you find a little something for your spouse, or more importantly, your crew and the boat. We’ve tried to keep it under $150, with a couple exceptions.
No doubt a lot of fleece will exchange hands this holiday, but the real warmth will last all year round. Have a relaxing holiday and smooth sailing throughout the new year.

What is Figgy Pudding? The most traditional figgy pudding recipe is very similar to a carrot cake base blended with a custard. Chopped figs are added for flavoring and texture, along with chopped dates or apples when available. For additional flavoring, many traditional figgy pudding recipes also call for liqueurs such as cognac or rum.
