Goosebumps returns, fun and free as always, to kick off the season of casual racing on Seattle’s Lake Union
Goosebumps is a “just for fun” sailing event sponsored by Seattle Singles Yacht Club (SSYC). There is no handicap scoring. SSYC provides a race committee boat, marked course, flags, horns, and will post results on the SeattleSinglesYC.com website and the Goosebumps Facebook page. No protests will be heard or accepted.
Goosebumps 2022 on Lake Union is set for the last three Sundays of January (16, 23, 30) 2022 and first three Sundays of February (6,13, 20) 2022. Come on out this Sunday!
12:50 p.m. Pre-start sequence
1:00 p.m. Start for Fast Boats (self-declared)
1:05 p.m. Start for All the Rest
The race committee is on VHF channel 69, please check in with the committee boat by picking up an updated race info sheet at the committee boat. The committee is usually off of China Harbor restaurant on Westlake.
Geese will be awarded to the top three series finishers: (Blue, Red and Yellow) A teal goose will be awarded to all starters each season.
If the wind is too radical or snow too deep, the committee will not hesitate to abandon a particular race. Updates will be posted on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/goosebumbrace (note this URL is not a typo and maybe it can get fixed in the future but for now this website has a “b” where the “p” should be).
So bundle up, come join the fun, and get the year of sailing started off right!
