Pacific Marine Expo, the West Coast’s largest commercial marine trade show, docks in Seattle from Thursday, Nov. 18 through Saturday, Nov. 20 It is the first major commercial show at Lumen Field Event Center since the start of the pandemic.
SEATTLE, WA – For the commercial marine industry, it’s nearly as exciting as seeing a record-breaking 63.2 million sockeye salmon return to Bristol Bay this summer!
“After a year away, the maritime community is very eager to come together again at Pacific Marine Expo,” said Bob Callahan, Group Vice President, Diversified Communications, which produces the show. “Over the past year we have heard time and time again how important this show is to the commercial marine industry, and we can’t wait to do our part to drive this business forward once again in 2022. This important industry needs this show, and we are ready to deliver it.”
This year’s PME will be held from Thursday, Nov. 18 through Saturday, Nov. 20 at the Lumen Field Event Center in Seattle. The Expo is the first major in-person commercial show to be held at Lumen Field since the start of the pandemic.
The industry’s eagerness to attend PME is being demonstrated by strong attendee pre-registration and exhibitor sales. PME is the West Coast’s commercial largest commercial marine trade show and has been held for more than 50 years in Seattle.
“This is by far the best show to talk to my customers and to create personal relationships that produce new business for Fishermen’s Terminal,” said Ray Giometti, Port of Seattle “We are so looking forward to this year’s show.”
Callahan noted that the PME team has spent months preparing and implementing rigorous onsite protocols that will ensure the safety of guests and their ability to do business at the Expo. “The health of our visitors, exhibitors, partners, and staff are our absolute top priority and we’ve taking every measure to make sure their experience at this year’s show is safe, positive, and productive,” Callahan said. PME COVID-19 Safety Requirements
Vaccine Policy – Per Lumen Field policy, all attendees, exhibitors, speakers, and staff will be required to provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination for entry into Lumen Field Event Center. In lieu of vaccination verification, entrants may also present a negative COVID-19 test result taken within 72 hours prior to the event.
Mask Mandate – In accordance with the current Washington state and King County mask mandates, until further notice all people entering Lumen Field Event Center will be required to wear masks at all times except while actively eating or drinking, regardless of vaccination status.
What PME is All About
If you’re in the commercial marine industry, you don’t want to miss this year’s Expo. For three days, the Pacific Northwest’s working waterfront is all in one place. That means some serious business, lots of catching up, and tons of great memories made.
This year’s PME features more than 500 exhibitors including equipment companies, propulsion, builders and suppliers, and more, who will be presenting the latest innovative products and business solutions. Daily events include live demonstrations, the Fisherman of the Year Contest hosted by Sean Dwyer from the Deadliest Catch and Claire Neaton of the Salmon Sisters, a taping of Hot Stove Society, daily happy hours, a presentation by the Fisher Poets, and an industry bookstore.
Finally, don’t miss the annual Maritime Economic Forecast Breakfast on Friday, November 19. The breakfast provides a tremendous opportunity to address the opportunities and challenges facing the region’s maritime and fishing industries. It also serves to highlight the important contribution of the King County maritime and fishing industries to the region’s economy and quality of life. In 2019, more than 300 industry leaders attended the breakfast.
