Facilitating sailboat races as a member of the race committee is fun, engaging, and rewarding, not to mention it’s a tremendous service to the sailing community! You’ll never find a more direct path to getting involved with race management than this, so don’t miss this unique opportunity.

Corinthian Yacht Club of Seattle and the Seattle Yacht Club will co-host this two-day in-person Advanced Race Management Seminar for those looking to advance their knowledge and skills in running events and working on race committees.

The seminar consists of one live 1-hour Zoom introductory session; on Tuesday, March 3, and two in-person sessions on Saturday, March 14 and Sunday, March 15, 2026, at Corinthian Yacht Club of Seattle, (7755 Seaview Ave NW Pier V, Seattle). The instructors for the seminar are John Siegel and Charley Rathkopf.

Ten days prior to the in-person session the course will open in Canvas—US Sailing’s online learning platform—for completion of the pre-course assignments. There is approximately 8-10 hours of pre-course preparation that is highly recommended and will enhance the class experience. The pre-course material will also be available after the seminar and can be reviewed at a more leisurely pace to better understand the in-person session portion of the seminar. Attendance in all three sessions is required to complete and pass the course. The lead instructor will email you with a Zoom link and additional course information before the seminar begins.

US Sailing course registration fee: $40. An additional fee of $60 will be collected by the clubs to cover lunch, and instructor travel and lodging expenses. Registration closes March 2, 2026. Note: Walk-In registrations are NOT allowed. Enroll now at
