Registration for The Sailing Foundation’s only US Sailing Hands-on Safety at Sea Seminar opens this Saturday at noon.
This year’s lone Safety at Sea seminar will be held on February 25 at Bainbridge High School. The fee for the class is $300 and registration will open on Saturday, December 9, at noon. The Bainbridge High School campus features classrooms, auditoriums, pool access and open outdoor spaces where instructors will provide hands on training on inflatable PFDs and harnesses, first aid, fire safety, life rafts and more.
Safety at Sea Courses are for everyone — cruisers, powerboaters, sailboat and adventure racers. These in-person classes include a full day of hands-on training, including in-the-water exercises, lunch, US Sailing’s book Safety at Sea: A Guide to Safety Under Sail and Personal Survival, and certificate from US Sailing.
NOTE: In the past, these courses have filled up quickly and organizers expect the same this year. If you need/want to take this course, don’t wait to register.
