We always thought the boating and sailing community needed a better events calendar to help the public know about the extraordinary number and variety of on-the-water and nautical events in Seattle, Portland, Vancouver, Victoria, and all the boaty harbors in between. This calendar is our solution, and we hope you find it fills that need. From sailboat races to swap meets, rendezvous to rallies, seminars to seafood fests, we look forward to seeing you out there!

Tasar Orcas Open
June 29 - June 30
The Tasar Fleet is coming to West Sound!
The Orcas Island Yacht Club is proud to host the PNW Tasar Fleet for the “Tasar Orcas Open” on June 29-30. This is one of the most competitive dinghy fleets in the country. The Tasar is a 15-foot, two-person dinghy, light and nimble, often sailed by couples and mixed crews. The Tasars held their National Championship in West Sound in 2022 and had so much fun they are returning in 2024. The Tasars have been active in the PNW since the 1980s. Several members have won the Worlds, including Jay and Lisa Renehan, Anthony Boscolo/Haley Lane, Carol and Carl Buchan, Dalton and Lindsey Bergan, and Jonathan/Libby McKee (five times). The group now includes our own Chris and Justin Wolfe, who recently bought a Tasar.
The weekend program includes practice sailing on Friday night, a skipper’s meeting Saturday morning, racing on West Sound on Saturday and Sunday, a hosted BBQ on Saturday night, and awards after sailing on Sunday. It should be a great weekend, and we are really proud to host this regatta.
