Friday, February 9 – First Time to the Broughtons

Chris McMuldroch

Hear about an early summer 2023 cruise to the Broughton Archipelago, British Columbia. Chris spent 44 days at 6 knots through the San Juans and Gulf Islands, Strait of Georgia, past the Sunshine Coast, through the Discovery Islands, and up the fearsome Johnstone Strait into Queen Charlotte Strait on Wind Dancer, a Tartan 3800 sailboat. Chris will share more about the crew, lessons learned, and favorite places they visited.

Friday, February 16 – Dash to Desolation Sound

Greg and Mara Barckert

Every summer in early August on the morning of the biggest ebb tide, the Barckert family casts off for a month aboard their Riptide 55’ sailboat Rocket Science. Two-and-half-days and 180 nautical miles later, they arrive in Desolation Sound and summer can officially begin. The Barckerts will assure you that  you don’t need a big fast boat to get there quickly. They will share tips for a quick passage and delve into the highs and lows of their experience from summer 2023.

Friday, February 23 – Bareboat Chartering on Italy’s Amalfi Coast

Hal and Ginger McMillan

In May of 2023, Hal and Ginger chartered a 46-foot sailboat for a week with six friends along the Amalfi coast and neighboring islands, including famous locations such as Capri, Positano, and Amalfi, as well as delightful lesser-known spots. They will share this cruising adventure with pictures and information about the destinations, the sailing, and the chartering process.
