We are back to printing 48° North in June, and deadlines for Classifieds and Subscriptions are this week!

For a host of pandemic-related reasons—from reduced advertising revenue to concern for delivery contractors, from closed distribution locations to our acknowledgement that essentially all of our readers were under stay-at-home orders—48° North did not print a magazine in May. That was a difficult decision, but we certainly didn’t take the month off! We had a blast putting all of our energies into digital, and we hope that you’ve been enjoying the stories and news at 48north.com.

As we look to June, we are well underway on a regular print issue to be delivered the week of Memorial Day. Thrilled to be magazine-ing again, we want you to make you aware of a few key dates as we proceed toward a deadline.

Classifieds – Submit By Tuesday May 12

While our Boats For Sale page has been one of our most consistently visited pages at 48north.com, we know that many readers love the classified section in the print magazine (many tell us they read the magazine back to front). Technically, the standard classified submission deadline for the upcoming issue is the 10th of the month prior, but we’re extending it two days to give everyone as much opportunity as possible to get the word out about their boats for sale.

Submit your classified ad here by the end of the day on Tuesday, May 12!

Subscription – Submit by Friday May 15

Print subscriptions can be a great option for lots of folks, especially those who are continuing to stay home. Not only will the magazine be sent directly to your mailbox, but subscribers join the 48° North crew by helping support what we do (both as a publication, and as a part of the non-profit Northwest Maritime Center).

Distribution Postponed a Day for Memorial Day – May 26 – June 1, 2020

For readers eager to pick up a print edition after a long month without one, the national Memorial Day holiday will delay our delivery by 24 hours. Look for magazines at regular locations as early as Tuesday, May 26. Note that facilities and businesses that remain closed (libraries, restaurants, bars) may not receive magazines, and we’ll stock some extra at locations that are open (marinas, etc.). Our plan is to get as many print magazines out there as normal, one way or another.
