The Center for Wooden boats recently announced that their 4th Annual Free Boating Day will be taking place on Sunday, April 27, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at their South Lake Union campus in Seattle.

The event also marks the season opening of the center’s monthly Public Sail program, a cherished Seattle tradition that has been going for over 25 years.​ Free Boating Day offers the public complimentary access to their fleet of rowboats and sailboats, providing a unique opportunity to explore Lake Union.

In addition to free boat rentals, attendees can enjoy a variety of family-friendly activities, including:​

  • Toy Boat Building
  • Woodshop Demonstrations
  • Knot Tying Workshops
  • Viewing of a pond boat regatta by the Pacific Northwest Model Yacht Club
  • Wooden Boat Storytime

No tickets or RSVPs are necessary—just come and enjoy the festivities, everything is FREE!
